This is the central blog website for a senior journalism project that looks at the growing trend of musicians utilizing their band-based skills to establish a career that keeps them within the music industry without actually playing music. Okay, you can breathe now.
I'm Brian Shultz, a senior at Stony Brook University majoring in journalism. I am "set" to graduate in December 2010, but we'll see what happens.
Over the course of the last seven years, I've written for a variety of print and online publications covering alternative and underground music. Chief among them are Punknews.org, where I'm the reviews editor, and Alternative Press, for which I write reviews and feature articles.
